Elbows should end up inside the knees. Great video! Thanks for sharing.

hmmm.. I am a certified personal trainer and have ALWAYS been taught to never let your knees go past the toes during any type of squat.. Too much pressure on the knees..

i didn’t hear him say knees past toes.

to be honest, it’s impossible, i mean i just tried doing a squat without weights and if ur knees go over your toes, your gonna break your legs if your holding weights.

this goblet thing looks weird, it doesn’t look like u can hold a lot of weight

how would one deep squat (below parallel) without allowing one’s knees to go pass?

I’ve read both sides of the argument and I choose to squat to parallel (crease of hip is lower than top of the knee) or lower. Once I had the technique down, I felt no difference in pressure on the knee vs. doing 1/2 squats and i’m now squatting 245lbs x 5.

power lifters have to squat to parallel and they don’t all have knee issues

Good stuff, but yeah, I don’t think goblets are meant for super heavy weight squats. You’d have to go to a front squat if you want that. Goblet squats are good for teaching beginners how to squat though and doing tabata squats.
