the problem is, we …
the problem is, we can’t cook, and we don’t want to cook. so we’re limited to cucumbers, carrots, spinach leaves, shredded cabbage, lettuce, bean sprouts, tofu, nuts, and fruits. beyond that, in the vegtable section, its a big DUH??? everything else is too bitter or unpalatable to eat without cooking.

If you do not have …
If you do not have diabetes, a high sugar intake will not cause diabetes. A diet high in calories, being overweight, and an inactive lifestyle are the main risk factors for Type 2 diabetes, not the sugar content. Sok-Ja Janket et al. Diabetes Care 2003 26: 1008-1015. But yes, processed foods are rubbish – frozen vegetables are ok btw, and eating enzymes isn’t of great benefit because your body will convert them to amino-acids in the same way we digest proteins.

Buy a blender, take a 1/2 a banana and a kiwi fruit, add some milk and blend for 30 seconds. Delicious!

well i have viewed …
well i have viewed most of your videos and this one i dissagree with. when u said eating a lot of fruits dont have as much calories as a hamburgur. well intaking large amounts of fruits means intaking a lot of fruitcose which eventually leads to diabetes mellitus. this means that control of food consumption is required and not so much changing eating habits from processed foods to fruits and vegitables. u have to look at the two sides when compairing two things.

Medium apple = 65 …
Medium apple = 65 calories.
Jack In The Box Sirloin Cheese Burger = 1070 Calories.
16 Apples = that one Burger.
If you get the softdrink and fries its 1640 Calories or 25 Apples.
It would be physically impossible to eat 25 apples in one seating most likely.

psychetruth October 29, 2007 at 9:19 pm

Also, don’t think …
Also, don’t think the Jack in the Box Value meal doesn’t have it a lot of sugar in it either. The fact is it has 148 grams of carbohydrates! Those statistics were from the normal value meal as well. Medium Coke and Fries, If you upsize it, it would be worse.

Go Natalie! Thank you for put that comparison so few people have any idea what they are doing to themselves or how bad processed foods are. Just reading labels for ingredients should scare us and send us running to the produce section…

I disagree. High sugar intake = insulin resistance, which leads to type 2 diabetes.

Processed foods = …
Processed foods = Garbage in, garbage out, equaling poor health.

Which is why we need to pay atteneion to the glycemic index and balance the right amount of fruits to vegies, it’s really quite simple if we care enough to educate ourselves to what that balance is… I had type 2 diabetes and completely cured it by eating the type of foods Natalie is recommending!

napster428 October 30, 2007 at 12:56 pm

i respect your …
i respect your opinion. however, as mentiond in your commnet eating more fruits help lose weight but eating to many can cause excess nutrients which eventualy leads to percipitaion of mineral solutes from the blood (kidney stones). So controling food consumption and healthy eating lead to a healthy diet and weight loss. great video. Thanks for your reply.

Opinionator, read …
Opinionator, read the comment properly: If you DO NOT HAVE diabetes, a high sugar intake will not CAUSE diabetes. pantheongaia if you refute the research by Sok-Ja Janket et al (2003), freely available on the internet, a research sample of 39,000 – then please state your research based evidence.

can you eat fruits, …
can you eat fruits, fruits have natural sugars.. does eating fruits increase agying? Second question: when i am looking for a product what is the max amount of sugar it may contain? and how much unnatural surger that is not found in fruits can i intake to be still considered healthy and not agying?

kingsize566 October 31, 2007 at 2:55 am

There is no …
There is no recommended daily allowance (RDA) for sugar. Weight loss surveys have shown that diets containing very small amounts of sugar are less easy to stick to.

Official US Guidelines advise a maximum of 40g refined sugar for every 2000 calories consumed. This equates to 8 percent of calories. An approximate daily intake is around 2000 calories for women and 2500 for men although this very much depends on your current BMI, age and amount the of exercise you take.
